Floral Friday: Pastel Flowers
Whether you choose a petal-packed spray of blooms or a simple posy, a pastel arrangement will add a glorious finishing touch to your fete.
While you might associate pastel colors with Spring, pastel flowers look cute all through the year! These beautiful bouquets will add an elegant and feminine touch to any gathering, day or night, spring or fall. If you’re having trouble coming up with a creative idea for your arrangement beautiful bright rose or tulip assortments always work well together.
How-To Tuesday: Balloon Elements
Balloons are often thought of as childish and sometimes tacky, but with the right vision and eye for design, balloons can add an element of class, whimsy, and even romance to the ambiance of your space.
Here are a few balloon DIY’s that will help you add a little pizzazz on a budget, while looking like a million bucks!
1) Balloon Pearls: You can find opalescent balloons anywhere for a few bucks, just blow them up at different sized and attach them to your wall or you can hang them on a string for a pearl necklace look
2) Hanging balloons: This can be achieved outdoors or indoors, just blow up balloons and hang them from the ceiling or from trees with string or bows and your space will transform into a whimsical wonderland.
3) Balloon wall: The perfect fix to any space to create beautiful ambiance and romantic drama. Blow up balloons with helium and hang them with string at different levels from the ground.
4) Hot air balloon centerpiece: This is a fun and easy alternative to your boring floral centerpiece. Fill a balloon with helium and tie or tape strings around it attaching to a pot of flowers at the bottom, you can use paint on the balloon to give it a more traditional hot air balloon look.
FLORAL FRIDAY: Adding Fruits and Vegetables to you Flower Arrangement
Making floral designs based on the common sense and conventional idea might often make you feel tired or bored with the similar pattern and same concept of arrangements. Once in a while it is a good idea to change your mind and use other fresh elements than flowers. Although we often use ferns or greeneries to create a little bit different atmosphere in our flower decorations, how about using fruits or vegetables this time ?
By adding some fruits or vegetables, it can create a different nature of atmosphere surrounding the floral decorations. We sometimes use fresh vegetables such as tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, onions, pumpkins and green peppers etc. Once in a while we use fresh fruits such as grapes, bananas, apples, lemons, oranges and pears whatsoever. As far as you pay attention to make a well balanced color coordination, you can use any kind of fresh elements as mentioned above.
These arrangements work all year around, and adding some fun food will not only make for a great conversation starter, but also a beautiful sight.
Thankful Thursday: Kind Strangers
There’s something very touching about hearing the story of someone in need being helped by a complete stranger. The strength of the “Random acts of kindness” movement is just one indicator of many that this idea resonates strongly. But although we may not be able to control many of the things in the world, one of the starkest exceptions is in the personal choice to help someone else. Kindness, particularly when extended to people outside of our social circles can do a tremendous amount of good in the world.
Wow! What an inspiration Wednesday: Arabian Nights
An Arabian nights theme party can transport guests into a fairytale to feel as if they are in a palace setting full of magic and mystery. This theme is perfect for children’s parties, and has some things in common with the prince and princess theme. An Arabian Nights theme party can also create a fun atmosphere for adult parties, with belly dancing and Arabian styled music. These parties are meant to create a sense of mystery and intrigue surrounding princes, princesses and thieves. From golden palaces to magic carpet rides, most information pertaining to the Arabian Nights theme is a combination of both fictional and historical settings and characters.
The first thing to do is find fabric from a fabric or decoration store that you can hang from the ceiling or drape in doorways. Sheer see-through fabric works best for Arabian Nights parties. Beyond fabric, tents are also worth looking into, and can work for both inside and outside parties. And around the party floor, it’s smart to have as many throw rugs, cushions or bean bag chairs as possible. Many households have a beanbag chair buried somewhere; ask your friends to round some up.
To enhance the Arabian mood, there are two big guns you could pull out, depending on how expensive you want to go or how much of a mess you want to make. The first is sand, sprinkled liberally throughout the party area. The second is a smoke machine. Combined with tents, rugs, and beanbags, it creates a terrific “Arabian luxury” atmosphere. Whether a small gathering or a grand affair, a theme party like this wont fail to be eminent in the memories of your guests!
How-To Tuesday: Cape Pops
Cake pops swept the internet like a tidal wave over the last few years, thanks to some creative cooks, and we love them as an idea for a simple and unique dessert for a party. They can be themed and elaborate, or simple and cute, however they look, they tasted pretty darn good!
Cake pops are basically little balls of cake and frosting, you bake up a cake, let it cool, tear it into fine crumbs, stir in something to hold it all together, and roll it in balls. Easy!
They’re super cute, and they’re also a great way to use up leftover cake. They’re not as rich as chocolate truffles, but they are still quite sweet. Special occasion treats only, but oh how people love them!
Gaining inspiration in everyday items. Love magazines, books, and catalogs ! #eliteocproductions #fun #inspiration #creativity #design #concept #events #weddings #gala #design #colorful #swatches
Floral Friday: Ombre Florals
Ombre, a French word that literally means gradation isn’t just happening on your hair anymore, it’s a trend that is seen all over - from cakes to nails to the runways. Unsurprisingly, another area that the ombre is now popping up is in floral arrangements!
Ombre is seen as the more sophisticated and elegant version of tie-dye and can be seen in fashion from casual wear to couture gowns as well as in beauty, accessories, and even food. Whether you’re looking to incorporate splashes of bright colors and don’t know quite how to display or incorporate this trend, feast on these examples for a spectrum of inspiration.
